The morning started with around a dozen secondary age pupils from approximately 5 different schools coming together to learn together. We thought about the challenges we face when making decisions and how we can keep ourselves calm in the face of stressful situations. And, because team work is such an important part of life, we then worked together to create our own dinosaurs from newspaper. Each dinosaur was unique with it's own unique set of skills - just like us!
Then in the afternoon we met a group of primary aged pupils from across a variety of schools, all coming together to meet other deaf pupils and practice how to speak up for ourselves and say what we need from others to help us to hear better. Friends were made, games were played and there was a lot of giggling alongside the learning.
We love offering workshops like this - and if you have a group of young deaf people and would like us to deliver a workshop to them, please do get in touch! We can tailor workshops to meet specific needs, time constraints and learning outcomes. Please do get in touch and we can have a chat!
