Charlotte Hegarty

The London marathon has been a bucket list event that I have wanted to do for some time and now with my son Lowen being 1 years old I wanted to set myself the challenge and raise money for a charity that works within my home area. Hear Together support deaf and hearing impaired children and adults in Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire.

I hope to take on this famous challenge and have Lowen support me once I cross the finish line. Lowen will be my most trusty training buddy and seeing the miles a little differently to me. I hope I'll show him that you can do anything you set your mind too and I would love him to be proud of me when he grows up.

Stephanie-Jane Oakes

Growing up around deafness and hearing loss within my immediate family, I've really seen the lack of education and basic support within our society. I'm running this year to raise money for Hear Together, a charity that enables children and adults to live well with any type of hearing loss.

I hope to encourage everyone to embrace any kind of disability that makes us different, including deafness and hearing loss, and not let it define what we can achieve, therefore setting myself the challenge of running the London marathon 2025.

Lakshmi Manoharan

I'm a public health doctor based in the beautiful city of Melbourne, Australia, where I'm passionate about helping people live their healthiest, happiest lives—and staying active is a big part of that! As an avid runner and cyclist, I've always believed in the power of movement to transform both body and mind.

This year, I'm taking on an incredible challenge: running my first marathon, and not just any marathon—the iconic London Marathon! I'm thrilled to be doing this in support of Hear Together, an inspiring charity that makes a real difference in people's lives.

Every step I take in training (and on race day) is driven by my commitment to this cause, and I'd love your support to help Hear Together continue their impactful work.

In April 2025, I will be running the TCS London Marathon raising funds for Hear Together, a fantastic charity working with d/Deaf and hearing impaired children and adults in Nottingham and Derby!

They run activities bringing d/Deaf children and their families together to build confidence, make friends and have fun!  They help older people to stay connected with their family and friends by keeping their hearing aids in good working order. Hear Together also run excellent training for people who work with and support d/Deaf people at school, in the workplace and in the community.

Tom Allen

I've always wondered if I had a marathon in me, now at 57 after years of procrastinating, I've finally committed to finding out.

An added bonus is that I'm doing it for a fantastic cause.
Hear Together runs great activities for deaf children and their families, helps older people keep their hearing aids in working order to stay connected and delivers excellent training, including deaf awareness.
