Over the course of nearly an hour an a half the kids made slime while learning about particles and atoms, they made flashing lights out of plasticine and led lights (yes really - plasticine!!) and finisihed off by making their own sour sweets.
I think it's safe to say that everyone involved had so much fun (including our two wonderful Hear Together Young Leaders - Kayden and Gargi). Everyone went home with tubs of slime and pots of sugary sour sweets (sorry mums and dads!).
We also had a chance to have a little play in the library's immersive room. While we didn't get as long in there as we hoped because the science workshop went on a bit longer than anticipated, it was a great chance to see what facilities the library offers and for the kids to have a little run around making objects move on the walls.
For me personally the best part was seeing kids coming together with some shy 'hellos' at the start to kids they had met on other events, but by the end laughing and joking with them as though they had known them their whole life.
Thank you to everyone that joined us! It was so heartwarming to see all those smiling faces again and we look forward to seeing you at our next event on Saturday 19th July!
